Cowboys and Indians

Sentinal Mountain

Dancing on Saturday night

As American as apple pie

Dancing with the lady in the yellow vest

Many years ago, I traveled from the Florida keys to Abique new Mexico outside of Santa Fe, to paint the spectacular mountains at the very place that Georgia Okeefe had lived and worked.I felt so at home in this magical place in the mountains where the spirit of the Indians was so pervasive. A short while later I spent time in Wyoming, and had the opportuntiy to stay in a cowboy town where the weekend was filled with social activities. These hard working men were able to relax with their sweethearts at a local bar and restaurant where they danced until dawn. I was moved by both experiences to paint the powerful feelings in both locations.
